Driving in France

Effective from the 1st July 2012, new legislation has been introduced requiring that anyone driving in France must carry a breathalyser kit in their vehicle. As it is a requirement that there is always one unused breathalyser in your vehicle, it is necessary to buy at least two to ensure there is an unused kit.

Kits are available from Amazon and various other websites and are obtainable for about £3 per breathalyser.

Persons found driving without a breathalyser kit in the vehicle can be fined.

Please note that the legal limit in France for drink driving is lower than the UK and is 50mg per 100ml of blood.

A reminder that if you are travelling abroad, we can provide an annual Breakdown Insurance Cover which can be extended to include EU countries.
